
Our Senior Pastor is Willie G. Comer Jr.
Pastor Comer was born in the Ida B. Wells Housing Project before his family moved to the South-side of Chicago.
He attended Simeon Vocational High School, received his A.A. Degree from Kennedy-King College, his B.A. Degree from Chicago State University and his Masters in Biblical Studies from Liberty Theological Seminary.
He served 8 years as the Pastor of Students at the largest African-American Church in Illinois “The Salem Baptist Church of Chicago under the leadership of Rev-Senator James T. Meeks, where he grew the student ministry from 100 to 1200 high school and college students.Using a style of up to date in your face practical application preaching of the Word of God and the use of all the artistic abilities of the students he led.
Through his ministry many other ministries were birthed: Mimes, Hip-Hop Praise Dance, Male and Female Step Ministries and a Drumline to name a few.
Pastor Comer founded, Zeta Phi Zeta Christian Fraternity and Sorority Incorporated in 2001 which has grown to a nationally recognized non-profit organization with chapters in Illinois, Alabama, Ark, and Tx just to name a few.
He is a member of the Board of Presidents for the United Council of Christian Fraternities and Sororities Inc.
In 2007 Pastor Comer was called by God to bring his non-traditional approach to ministry to the Champaign Community and in February of 2009 he left his life in Chicago and planted Berean Covenant Church of Champaign.
He shares his passion for ministry with his beautiful bride Zabrina and their three children: Marcia, Tyanna and Vernon.
He leaves this with everyone he comes in contact with:
